I know a pioneer that got a gun hole in his car during service near his gas tank. He was very proud about how Yah protected him, although even if it hit his tank, it wouldn’t have blown up the car (Mythbusters tested that).

In regards gun laws, this person was already not permitted to have a gun, this happened near Chicago, an area with the most stringent gun laws in the world (even worse than Europe). The kid shot from a car he wasn’t allowed to drive, shot a gun he wasn’t allowed to have. My opinion this was a dumb mistaken identity, our Witless was likely driving a car very similar to another drug dealer or opponent gang member, because we all know Witlesses nor gangbangers can afford to drive anything nice.

Where are his parents, why wasn’t he in school? Why aren’t the JWs promoting actual fixes, such as strong families and outreach programs for youngsters in trouble?

The question is how would the State execute this kind of action? The majority of elders, except for 3 per congregation (or 3 per congregation group in multi-congregation Kingdom Halls) are not listed anywhere officially. Sure they could go after the registered officers of the corporations but they, for obvious reasons, likely don’t legally have access to the records.

The more I look into this stuff, the more I am convinced it was either the Americans or the Chinese under the auspices of the Biden admin.

One article calls it “mysterious”. A few months later, Ukraine is invaded, Zelensky shuts down their connection between Europe and Russia, Nordstream blows up, suddenly the US is shipping 40% of its strategic oil reserve to China and Europe and Europe is demanding massive oil from the Saudis and Africa.

Who gets the majority of contracts, the company that recently purchased all the capacity on the market, Unipec, a subsidiary of Sinopec. Sinopec is wholly owned by the Chinese government. Meanwhile we recently found out from Republican House investigations that private equity firm, BHR Partners, founded and currently still held by the president’s son, Hunter Biden, invested $1.7 billion in Sinopec.

There is obviously no direct evidence, it just happens that Biden family investments always happen to make weird moves before major events and happen to always do very well when Joe is in some form of office.

this morning she was questioning something that was said in the annual meeting part 2 and i looked it up for myself.

( feb 23 ) at timeline 1:37 the claim is in the new world jesus and the 144000 will raise the dead and just shortly after that the claim is jesus and the 144,000 will read hearts.

Having talked to a few JW, they definitely pick up on it, and they accept it as if it has always been gospel. JWs that still trust solely in the Bible are either voluntarily or involuntarily leaving, the young generation is being taught that the Bible cannot be trusted without the WT intervention.

Jerusalem had kings after Zedekiah. Currently they even have a Jewish “king”.
So shouldn’t this prophesy be fulfilled by now, regardless of the calculation that is used?

Yes, it seems they are saying that the 144k will be equals to Jesus once they get in heaven. Not sure if that is "new light", I swear they started this line of reasoning when I was already in decades ago, although it was a lot more subtle back then.

I guess they're just making it more and more clear that they (the 7 GB) are equals to God/Jesus.

It is often claimed, the problem with that is that it may have been true once but the contents and title vary country by country, so the question is whether it is actually the same magazine.

Remember, in some languages they had a “study edition” already since the 80s and 90s. I know moving between countries, the articles and sometimes even the study articles were not the same, often delayed by 1-3 months (so you had to look in your Dutch November article for the US September Watchtower studies)

Gun Ownership - A question for American Witnesses (or Ex-Witnesses)

i would like to ask a question regarding gun ownership in the active american witnesses community.

while rifle ownership has been put in the same category as spear guns and fishing rods, how has the issue of pistol ownership been handled in us congregations?

I know several elders that had gun collections, either from the army or direct purchase.

It depended on the congregation you were in, the ones in Appalachia were heavy gun owners and not even the JW could change that, second amendment applied to God as well, but go to New York City or Europe and you would think, like a Smurf, guns could walk out and kill people and having one in your home was tantamount to murder.

So in the end, as with everything in JW-land, it depends on your elders.

the bible is well known for its ellipsis* and its lack of explanatory statements of a term used.

You also have to understand both the translational issues as already pointed out, the other problem is that most of the original texts were written in subversion of existing governments and thus not just written within context, but also using code that were designed to not be understandable even by contemporary readers.

Most of the apocrypha, the books of John of Patmos, Paul and even older books and writers like Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel etc were all likely writing critical pieces chronicling the actions of their contemporary kings, leaders and governments, nowadays interpreted (falsely) as prophecy.

The tanks haven’t been delivered yet, the Biden admin is now saying they don’t even have the Abrams tanks and it may take up to a year to get the delivery arranged.

Likewise Germany’s 10-15 tanks is both not enough (just a token), apparently the Ukrainians aren’t trained on the equipment and have no clue on how to use them in battle and the delivery is likely ‘not to happen this year’.

So for all the ‘provocation’ it seems to just be a media stunt, neither Biden nor the Fourth Reich (EU) seems to be willing to actually provide any support and we know Russia has now amassed and plans to invade with a force 10x larger than what they did last year and Russia can literally throw another few waves of that size.\

Meanwhile Ukraine is so desperate, it is forcing conscription on older men, women and even men from groups like Crimean Tatars in territories they have re-occupied, there are many videos of the Ukraine military invading homes and forcing any male they find, even snatching them off the street to put into the meatgrinder. That is besides any support they are burning in the disputed territories with major war crimes.
